Typhoons’ by Royal Blood – Album Rating: 4/5 ★★★★

British rockers Royal Blood stupefy with their new album, ‘Typhoons‘. The 11-track release is everything that any Blood fan will relish, given that the band bolster their signature sound.

Kicking off the new record is the highly acclaimed ‘Trouble’s Coming‘ with the band unleashing an omnipotent overture with the drums from Ben Thatcher hitting hard like thunder. Also, the guitar boasts an infectious dynamic flow that will have guitar lovers froffing from the gullet.

The two-piece take no prisoners, and they head straight into ‘Oblivion‘, which brings a new edge to the forefront. Catchy as ever, frontman Mike Kerr delivers a profound vocal performance, and he delves deep into his vocal toolkit, rising to the top with potency!

Delicious Bass Tone

Typhoons‘ follows with an eery introduction before the speakers get drilled with a delicious bass tone. Here the band unleash a myriad of new sounds, which gives them even more unique appeal. ‘Million And One‘ is enormous, and it brings a stadium-quality that will undoubtedly become an anthem for the group.

Robust and confident, ‘Boilermaker‘ gets even bolder, as does ‘Mad Visions‘ and ‘Hold On‘, proving that the band is taking giant leaps with every new record. The album concludes with ‘All We Have Is Now‘. The vibe changes significantly with a piano arrangement that showcases a distinct flavour. It is dreamy, and the melancholy feel is memorable.

Overall, ‘Typhoons‘ is a stand out that takes hints from the likes of Jack White and Muse but yet also shines a unique lens on the Brighton innovators.
