In a recent interview with People, Bebe Rexha candidly shared her experience and emotions surrounding the Grammy Awards in 2019, where she faced disappointment after being nominated for her first Grammy Awards in the categories of Best New Artist and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for the chart-topping track “Meant to Be” with Florida Georgia Line.

The 34-year-old singer revealed that not winning the coveted accolade left her feeling downhearted. “I got really bummed out. I told myself, ‘If I do not win for ‘Meant to Be,’ I really do not think I’ll ever win a Grammy for anything else,'” Bebe expressed in the interview. The unexpected turn of events led her to reevaluate her outlook on awards and recognition in the music industry.

“Ever since then, what I’m trying to get to is having no expectations,” Bebe shared, emphasizing her shift towards a more grounded and open-minded approach to her career and the recognition that comes with it.
