Damon Albarn, the frontman of iconic Britpop band Blur, has disclosed his inner struggle before the band’s second sold-out show at Wembley Stadium. The band, known for hits like “Parklife” and “Song 2,” reunited for their first album in eight years, ‘The Ballad of Darren’, followed by a series of highly anticipated live performances, including two nights at London’s legendary Wembley Stadium.

In an interview with KROQ during Coachella weekend one, Albarn confessed to wavering on the brink of canceling the second Wembley gig. “I never thought I’d love Wembley. The first night was great, and then the next night, I didn’t want to do another gig,” he revealed. Seated in a hotel at Wembley Park, Albarn found himself grappling with a lack of enthusiasm, even contemplating calling off the show altogether. “I was trying to find reasons to cancel it,” he admitted.

However, Albarn’s perspective shifted as he observed the throngs of fans converging upon the stadium. “I was watching these people coming in and I was like, ‘Well, I can’t cancel that,'” he recalled. Despite his initial reluctance, Albarn ultimately took to the stage, and what ensued was nothing short of remarkable.
