The Creeps’ by Garbage – Single Rating: 4/5 ★★★★

The ability within Garbage to reinvent themselves while staying faithful to their unique sound is what puts them at the top of the rock game. Furthermore, the band that rose to prominence in the 1990s are still as influential today as they were decades ago.

The Creeps‘, their new single, is a representation of the group’s current mood. It begins with a gritty drum beat that sits alongside a haunting synth lead. It doesn’t take long for the mix’s power to ooze through, with the overture building up speed quickly.

Shirley Manson

Shirley Manson, the group’s frontwoman, then dazzles with a one-of-a-kind and fascinating vocal performance. Her tone is on point, and she has a style that is reminiscent of her previous work. Also, even after all these years in the business, it’s still tough to compare her to anyone else.

Many dynamic aspects in this tune keep the blood pumping from beginning to end. Furthermore, the guitar beat is raw and stadium-like, slapping the chops. Similarly, the bass is front and centre, rattling to the drums’ powerful beat; it is gripping for the entirety!

The Creeps‘ is the second track off the group’s seventh album, ‘No Gods No Masters‘. Also, according to insiders, It is about a time when Shirley feared her life was gone. It was back in 2009 that the group’s label decided to part ways with them. On the other hand, Garbage appear to be having the last laugh, given the potency of this new gem.
