Gwen Stefani is dropping smash-hits left, right and centre at the moment. First, we had ‘Let Me Reintroduce Myself‘, and now we have her new release, ‘Slow Clap‘.

Slow Clap‘ follows a similar vibe to her previous release, with a reggae vibe flowing for the entirety. Also, fresher than ever, Gwen Stefani gets the feel-good flowing instantly with a groove that you will struggle to find elsewhere.

The new gem kicks off with an intense bass riff, and it gets the endorphin levels rising. Gwen then leaps forward with a top-class vocal performance with her catchy signature hooks cementing themselves deep from the get-go.

Conformity

Clever with her lyricism, Gwen speaks about not having to conform to competitors and other peers in the music industry. She sings about being herself. Additionally, she is not afraid to express herself even when there is a lot of pressure to reinforce the status quo.

Vocally Gwen is on top form. She flies high, proving why she is one of the greatest singers to grace the chart over the last few decades. She also sings about wanting to be at the top of the game, often citing her successful route and also being a music champion.

Musically, the entire track is revitalising with a myriad of sounds jumping out as the track progresses. So much so, it is hard not to jump into her realm with her infectious melodies hitting home with a piercing flavour. Additionally, the bass line that often appears in the main hooks is a club banger. As a result, it will be no surprise to hear it rattling underground basements post-COVID-19 lockdown.
