Kacey Fifield Interview With Colby

Award-winning singer-songwriter Kacey Fifield stopped by for a chat!

Colby: Hello Kacey, It is great to speak with you. Firstly, congratulations on releasing your debut album, ‘Between The Lines’. Can you tell our readers who have yet to hear a little of what to expect?

Kacey: Thank you so much! As the name suggests, the album takes a deep look at all of the underlying emotions and thoughts found “between the lines.” It focuses on all things unwritten, subliminal, and secret. The songs are all about complicated relationships with people, whether that be a satirical critique of the nature of fame, a self-reflection, or a heartfelt message to a lost friend. I worked with 7 incredible music producers from around the world to create these 12 tracks and I’m so excited that everyone gets to hear them now!

Colby: The electronic-pop vibe on offer here is hard to resist, and we have been enjoying it ever since it arrived. Have you always had a passion for this type of music?

Kacey: Yes! I grew up loving pop music and it’s still my favorite style. Electronic music is just so innovative and has so many possibilities for establishing different vibes and conveying messages. The producers I worked with for the album did an amazing job creating the instrumental tracks that perfectly match my lyrics and melodies! Big shout out to my team of producers: Toniia, Nippandab, Little Rain, Ricardo Padua, Noble, Robbie Rosen and Marin Hoxha.

Colby: Which artists influence you the most?

Kacey: My very first musical influences were the soundtracks for the TV shows that I grew up watching, Victorious and Big Time Rush. Nowadays, I’m super inspired by my favorite artists: Tate Mcrae, Billie Eilish, The Weeknd, Harry Styles, and Conan Gray!

Colby: The reaction to this album has been incredible. Were you expecting it to take off quite as it has?

Kacey: I’m definitely so grateful for all of the support I received! I really didn’t know what to expect of the release since this is my first-ever album (which is definitely very different from releasing singles!). So happy with how everything has been going so far!
