Lana Del Rey, has surprised fans by announcing her departure from Instagram. The “Summertime Sadness” singer took to her Instagram Stories over the weekend to inform her followers that she was deactivating her account. Del Rey stated that she no longer felt the need to use the platform to promote her live shows or her father Rob Grant’s new album.

In a heartfelt message, the 37-year-old artist expressed her gratitude to her loyal fans, saying, “Thank you so much for everything.” Accompanying the words was a snapshot of Del Rey with a delicate butterfly perched on her nose, symbolizing transformation and change. She continued, “Now that Rob’s record is out and now you know where I’m touring, this account is closing. Good luck and love u.”

This isn’t the first time Del Rey has taken a break from Instagram. In 2021, she bid farewell to the platform, leaving fans in anticipation. During her absence, dedicated followers had to request access to her private Instagram account, aptly titled “honeymoon.” There, Del Rey offered glimpses into her personal life through candid photos and occasionally interacted with fans via Instagram Live.
