Los Angeles Indie Folk maestros Lord Huron are back, and they unleash an instant 2021 anthem with ‘Not Dead Yet‘. It is a smash-hit gem that will quickly become your modern soundtrack if you relish potent guitar riffs and nail-biting wordplay.

Kicking off as they mean to go on, the US band stay well away from the current status quo. As a result, they introduce a soundscape that would not sit out of place back in the 60s and 70s. Furthermore, the vocals stand out, and the beat shuffles forward with an infectious cadence which will get even the sternest of listeners tapping along.

Vocally, frontman Ben Schneider takes the listener on an adventure, and he delves deep with personal lyrics which hit home with piercing flavour. The musical arrangement on ‘Not Dead Yet‘ is highly-listenable with a flow that leaks energy. The group appears to find influence from the greats in their field, with a T-rex vibe popping out at times. But, they are not a mirror reflection of anything which has appeared before; instead, they ride their own path, and it pays off with a wholly unprecedented aura.

This track raises the question, why are they so underrated? They should be sitting at the top. Especially given that they boast a sound that gives the bigger hitters in the game a genuine run for their cash. But then again, maybe 2021 will be their year? It will be no shock to hear this one taking giant leaps in the coming months.
