John O’Brien takes centre stage with his new album ‘Love’s Vexations’, and as he prepares to take the UK by storm on his forthcoming tour, we could not resist getting stuck into his new record!

Everything we’ve come to expect from an artist of John’s calibre appears in ‘Love’s Vexations’. Furthermore, it is not surprising that he keeps us hooked on the speakers for the length of the record, given that he has been in the business for more than 45 years!

The album opens with the nail-biting proper rock gem ‘Stop’, which features a mouth-watering synth hook, a foot-tapping drum rhythm, and a vocal that creates an indent for all the right reasons. ‘Mother Ocean’, which arrives five tracks into the record, brings a chill aura to the forefront with an acoustic guitar riff paving the way ahead of a salient delivery from John.

‘Rock In The Sun’ at track 12 reminds us why rock and roll is so damn great! The riffs soar through the mix, and we are begging for more once it concludes!
