Max Bartos stopped by for a chat!

Colby: Hello, Max. Your journey from a life-threatening bike crash at a young age to becoming a multi-talented artist in the entertainment industry is remarkable. Can you share more about how that experience shaped your perspective on life and your artistic pursuits?

Max: Yeah! Honestly the biggest thing that the whole experience taught me was how close we all are to death at any moment, and how we really should wear our hearts on our sleeves and live every moment fully, and I try to incorporate that into my music.

Colby: You’ve been involved in various aspects of the entertainment world, from theater to film, and even as a musician. How do you find balance and inspiration in your diverse creative endeavors, and do you have a favorite medium among them?

Max: Yeah! I’d say my true love lies in the gray area between music and theatre! I don’t think I’d ever be able to just pick one medium to create with, so it’s kind of perfect that I do it all!

Colby: Your upcoming EP, “Memento Mori,” is set to release soon. Can you tell us about the themes and inspirations behind this project, and what listeners can expect from it?

Max: Yeah! It actually came out on Friday October 13th! The themes of the album are Love, Loss, and Heartbreak, I mean, it is an album about a ghost after all! Listeners can expect to dance, cry, and hold the hand of the person they love.

Colby: In addition to your solo music career, you’ve been a frontman for emo/pop punk bands and have even worked on original musicals. What draws you to these different musical expressions, and how do they inform your creative process?

Max: Yeah!! I love creating. It’s truly the air I breathe and the blood in my veins! I love putting words to emotions and helping people express themselves, and I’ve found that these mediums are my favorite!

Colby: Your podcast, “Clowns ‘R’ Us,” has gained significant popularity. Could you share some memorable moments or insights from the show, and what do you enjoy most about exploring the horror film genre with your co-host, Connor Dean?

Max: Yeah!! I think my favorite moment was when we sat down and hit record on our first episode!!! I think my favorite part of doing the podcast is getting to be a nerd about something I love, and feeling justified in my nerdiness!!
